We remember meeting with Lynne for the first time with fond memories;

“What can we do to help?”

“Just volunteer a few hours, and that would be amazing,” said Lynne.

Well, four years later and we are so happy to be part of the IG2G family.

We are parent ambassadors, and feel our role is to support the charity wherever it is needed.  We are very happy to help out in a variety of different ways.

We do “meet and greets” for families staying at the Ripple Retreat.  Lynne felt it was important to have friendly faces to welcome families and explain how things work at the RR.

We are now part of the “snack team” and restock fizzy juice, snacks and magazines to the same ward at the Western Hospital were our daughter was treated for cancer.

We co-ordinate with Lynne and Carla for the Murrayfield bucket collections.  It’s good 2 give is Edinburgh Rugby chosen charity and we help meet the volunteers pre match, provide them the necessary equipment and direct them to the bucket collection zones.

We do have one specific job, we are the Christmas elves who decorate the Ripple Retreat Christmas tree, but shhh don’t tell the kiddies.

It’s easy to become a volunteer, because every bit that you do helps.

To a simple, pick up a parcel on the way home from work, to bouncing about in a squirrel costume, or abseiling down from the Forth Rail Bridge.
