It’s good 2 give provides mental health support, practical support, and gifts short breaks at our purpose built retreat on the shores of Loch Venachar to young cancer patients and their families in Scotland.
Our services are outlined below:
Ripple Retreat
The Ripple Retreat is a place for families of young cancer patients in Scotland, to spend time together to focus on their mental and physical wellness during the most challenging of times, in our soothing natural surroundings. This is a realisation of our dream - to provide a calm and caring environment. Comfortable in our uniquely beautiful, natural retreat away from the everyday realities of living with cancer. We do not want costs to be a barrier. We gift 4 night breaks at no cost to families.
Parent and Patient Packs
Parents and young cancer patients admitted to hospital in an emergency may not have time to pack essentials – that’s where we can help.
We supply packs for the children’s oncology wards in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, and Inverness; packs for babies, toddlers, children, teenagers, and parents, and contain everything they may need such as a toothbrush and paste, shower gel, notebook and pen, and a tee shirt.
Lottie Dolls
Following feedback from a young cancer patient, our Lottie Dolls without hair are a lovely gift to give to younger children experiencing hair loss during treatment.
Children want a doll that looks like them. They are such a comfort and a wonderful thing to give to children and their siblings too.
Psychologist Posts
It’s good 2 give funds four part time (equivalent hours to 2 full time posts) psychologists posts on the children’s oncology wards in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Thanks to the efforts of our supporters and fundraisers, we have in place a five-year funding agreement to ensure that we provide mental health support for young cancer patients across Scotland.
Ad Hoc Requests
Every circumstance and family are unique, and as such have individual needs.
We respond to requests to support a young cancer patients treatment and rehabilitation.
