Kiltwalk Countdown Tips

This year’s Virtual Kiltwalk Weekend starts tomorrow and we know how hard you have all been training for the event. The forecast for the weekend is looking dry and warm which is fantastic.

We are delighted that so many people are taking part for us this year and we know you are all going to do great.

To help you along, we’ve put together some tips to make it easier for you to take part:

  1. Charge your phone / pedometer / smart watch the night before to record those all important steps and miles.

  2. Get a good night’s sleep the night before so you are ready for your challenge.

  3. Load up on carbs for breakfast to give you the stamina you need to complete your walk, run or boogie.

  4. Remember to warm up your muscles with a few stretches.

  5. Wear comfortable and supportive socks and shoes - you don’t want to have to stop because of cuts and blisters.

  6. Make sure you pack plenty of water and snacks to keep yourself hydrated and full of energy.

  7. Don’t forget you are in Scotland so layer up for changeable weather.

  8. Reminder to make one of those layers something tartan - a kilt, scarf, top, shorts or hat.

  9. Pace yourself - you don’t want to use all your energy in the first mile.

  10. Take selfies and share them with us, email carla@itsgood2give.co.uk and Carla can pull together them all for a big photo montage. We want to hear how you are getting on and who you are walking with.

  11. If you are walking alone, some upbeat music or fun podcasts will make good company.

  12. Take a break if you need to, it’s more important to finish and not hurt yourself than finish fast.

  13. Wind down afterwards - more stretching or a nice relaxing bath.

  14. Enjoy and have lots of fun!

A huge GOOD LUCK to everyone from all the team at It’s Good 2 Give.  We are very grateful to have such amazing supporters.
