Caledonia House Virtual Kiltwalk

As you know, this year the Kiltwalk has gone virtual, and that’s worked to the advantage to the staff at Nationwide Building Society. As employees are working remotely for the company throughout England and Scotland, they have been able to join as one virtual team to take part in the virtual Kiltwalk to raise funds for It’s good 2 give!

Those that have walked the Kiltwalk before will know there are normally three different walks you can do, 5, 15 or 26 miles but this year, with the event being virtual, you can do the challenge any way you want. So for walkers, runners and those that prefer two wheels, The Nationwide Building Society team have pledged to complete 500 miles (yes, just like the Proclaimers’ song!), and take part in a burger eating challenge!

From 1-25 April they had planned to walk, run, jog or cycle as many miles as possible then on the event weekend (23-25 April) take part in personal challenges of 15 or 26 miles. However, as they smashed their goal after just two weeks, they decided to double their goal and walk 1000 miles!

Their team includes a wide variety of people with different abilities, from non walkers and children to avid walkers and pets. Everyone has done so well achieving their personal goals all whilst raising money for our charity.

Kylie Shaw from the Nationwide said:

As an Ambassador for It’s good 2 give, it fills me with so much pride to see my friends, family and colleagues get involved and learn about this amazing charity and allows me the opportunity to continue raising funds year after year. I know that any money helps however big or small and goes to such wonderful things for the beautiful children we’re blessed to see during the terrible challenges they face in their young lives.

We would like to thank the whole team at the Nationwide Building Society for their support and wish them all the best for the challenges this weekend.
