Alan Lamb's 100 Hole Golf Challenge
What an amazing day of fundraising, friendship and a lot of golf!
Huge congratulations to Alan Lamb for completing his 100 hole Golf challenge, in record timing and great score too, raising funds via It's good 2 give, for an accessible boat at Loch Venachar sailing club.
This boat will not only allow families who stay at the Ripple Retreat access to sailing, no matter their ability, but also to any child that visits the sailing club too.
Alan’s inspiration for this challenge came from his eldest daughter Joanna, who sadly died in 2019. Joanna's cancer caused her to have her leg amputated. On a visit to the Ripple Retreat, she loved her sailing experience with Rob at the sailing club. Alan and his family know how important these experiences are no matter anyones ability and wanted to help fund a new boat.
The fundraising golf day could not have been possible without the help and support of Alan's golfing friends who played the holes with him, Turnhouse Golf Club who hosted the event, our team of young ambassadors - Tabby, Finn, Cara, Eilidh, Jess, Natasha, Eden, Grace, Harry, Sophie, Erin, Nicola and Blair, led by Jane, and Trustees Lynne, Susie and Fiona, and Alan’s wife Angela and youngest daughter Nicola. It certainly made Father's Day a next level celebration.
Chair of It's good 2 give Lynne McNicoll said -
"It was truly a privilege to be at this event from the start at 4am to the end at 6pm - watching Alan was inspirational - his determination to do this challenge and do it well was clear to see and his golf partners were in awe of his speed and skill. As always, we were welcomed with friendship at Turnhouse Golf Club and had a thoroughly enjoyable and busy day. Three cheers for Alan - this was one of the most inspiring challenges I have heard about and witnessed!"
Alan added -
"playing with Nicola on the last 10 holes was the best way to complete an amazing day. Such good fun and great to see so many people."
The event has raised an amazing £8687.45.
Well done Alan and everyone involved. .
