Fundraising Poppy Seeds
I’m Angela and I’m part of the It’s good 2 give team.
I love gardening and in particular enjoy the spectacular display of pink poppies which come out each year flowering throughout the summer through to September.
This year, I collected thousands of seeds and shared them with friends and family in return for a donation to help raise funds for It’s good 2 give to help us support young cancer patients and their families.
I’m delighted to have raised £270 which I’ve donated to Judith Paterson’s Kiltwalk page. This will turn into £405 with the 50% top up from The Hunter Foundation!
The seeds are now with people ready to sow in their gardens all around the UK, including the Scottish Borders, Edinburgh, Yorkshire, Derbyshire, and Leicestershire.
I’m hoping that my new poppy growers will consider doing the same with their seeds next year and we’ll enjoy an abundance of gorgeous pink poppies across the UK!
It’s a simple and cost-effective way to raise funds. I’m currently identifying plants in my garden which I’ll be dividing up in October to continue to raise funds. Lupins, crocosmia, Japanese anemone, and hostas, to name but a few!
