Our Young Ambassadors 2020
At It’s good 2 give we are very lucky to have a team of fantastic Young Ambassadors. They range from 8-18 years old.
As part of their role they help us fundraise, get involved in our events and promote It’s good 2 give.
Last year we had so many plans for them in place, which unfortunately had to be cancelled but we did manage to keep in touch with the team through regular Zooms, virtual quizzes and calls to make plans for 2021.
Although 2020 wasn’t the year any of us expected, this didn’t stop our Young Ambassadors. They helped our charity with lots of different activities… here are just some of them.
Eliza set up an online second hand book shop raising over £5000! This money was used to supply families across Scotland with shopping vouchers.
Alfie, Arianna, Erin, Blair, Rhuaridh and Eilidh, took part in the virtual Kiltwalk, which was very different to what they normally do but still great fun.
Arianna and Alfie helped us make up parent and child packs for young cancer patients and their parents which were delivered to the Glasgow Children’s Hospital and the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh along with ‘thank you packs’ for the nurses.
Eden sold It’s good 2 give pens, cards, water bottles and jigsaws to her friends and family.
Blair open our Big Weekend In and Winter Warmer Weekend virtual event playing his bagpipes, and showed us all how to make a wonderful risotto, and chicken with Spanish rice, which was very yummy!
Alfie, Blair, Cara and Eden all took part in a video to promote some of our merchandise including Christmas cards, pens, jigsaw and hats.
Grace organised 2 baking events for the Big weekend in & winter warmer weekend which saw more than 35 people take part in making muffins & cookies over the weekends.. She is also one of our YA Super Sellers!
They all helped write and send Christmas cards to friends, elderly neighbours and community groups such as The Corstorphine Dementia Project who have had a very lonely time during lockdown not being able to see their own family and friends.
Cara wrote Christmas cards to our Patrons.
All our Young Ambassadors sent a birthday card to a girl who had lost her daddy a few months before her 8th birthday. Lynne received a very warm and grateful response from the mum
Cara, Grace and Tabby wrote thank you cards to many of our supporters.
Well done to all of them.
We are looking forward to catching up in person sometime soon and put plans in place to fundraise and work together in promoting our charity.
