Meet Lynne - Owner of CalEli Gifts

Another of our fantastic supporters is Lynne who owns CalEli Gifts.

Having been part of our charity for the last 6 years, Lynne is now kindly donating proceeds from the sale of some of her beautiful products to us.

Here she is to tell us a bit more about herself and how she found out about It’s good 2 give and the work we do.

Hello. I'm Lynne, owner of CalEli Gifts, a small independent Edinburgh based company that I run out of our family home.

In 2016 I changed career paths from being a primary teacher to follow my dream of running my own company.

I have always loved buying and receiving personalised gifts but I used to get really frustrated as I found it difficult to find the correct spellings of my boys' names - Callum and Elliot. I decided that I wanted to become involved with personalised gifts so that I could spell names and messages exactly the way that people wanted.

After months of searching and contacting numerous designers and suppliers I finally found high quality gifts and keepsakes that could be personalised.

Deciding on the name of my company was easy! I used some of the letters from my sons' names to form CalEli.

From personalised Christmas Tree decorations, CalEli Gifts is now selling over 300 bespoke personalised gifts for every occasion on their website and various other ecommerce sites. I personalise some items by hand and I have a team of engravers that I use to personalise everything else from wood to glass to ceramics.

Last year I was delighted to be a finalist in the Great British Entrepreneur Awards for Scotland. Although I didn't win, it was a fantastic experience.

I first heard about It’s good 2 give in 2014 when I was invited to The Blingo Ball by a friend (Her son is now one of the young ambassadors).

On that night, I heard a Mum tell us about her experience of her daughter having cancer and how Lynne and her amazing team at It's good 2 give had helped this family. As a Mum, I just knew I had to get involved with this local charity that are truly making a huge difference to so many.

I donated my highland cow hanging decorations for every table at the 2019 It's good 2 give Ball to help raise more funds and for the past 3 years I have loved having a stall at the Christmas Afternoon Tea events and being able to donate a percentage of my earnings.

It has been wonderful to meet some of the team and the young ambassadors over the years and I look forward to continue to being involved in future IG2G events.
