Marion - Kiltwalker & Super Supporter

Our very own super supporter Marion is taking part in this month’s Kiltwalk for It’s good 2 give as part of her 75th birthday celebrations!

Since she has been unable to do many of her normal It’s good 2 give volunteering duties due to Covid-19 restrictions, she decided to do some fundraising instead.

Marion does so many amazing things for our charity. She is the lead volunteer of our Snack Team at the new Royal Hospital of Children and Young People in Edinburgh, Head Housekeeper at our Ripple Retreat and a member of Ripple Retreat Welcoming Team. She also helps at our events, does lots of pickups and deliveries for us and liaises with the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Cancer Ward for us. She is a very busy lady and was the first winner of The Joanna Lamb Award for Outstanding Volunteering in 2019.

She said:

I've got my 75th birthday coming up in July and this Crazy Pensioner appreciates how lucky I am to still be fit (well reasonably !!) and healthy so it seemed a good idea to take part in the Virtual Kiltwalk.
Getting my Lardy Lockdown Body out walking is also helping me to get my mojo back again.
As I'm not fit enough to walk 15 miles in one go I'm going to do 3 x 5 mile walks, over the Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I'm really looking forward to completing my own wee personal challenge.

We wish this amazing lady all the best with her walk and her fundraising.

If you would like to join Marion in taking part in the Virtual Kiltwalk, click here and choose It’s good 2 give (IG2G) as your chosen charity.

Don’t forget, all the money you raise will go towards helping young cancer patients and their families in Scotland, and is topped up by 50% from the Hunter Foundation.
