It's good 2 give 12 Days of Christmas

This year, on the twelve days leading up to Christmas we are putting the spotlight on services we provide.

We will be sharing one of these each day to let you all know a bit more about how we help young cancer patients and their families in Scotland.

You can help us maintain these services for these families by adding a donation to your Christmas list this year.

Our heartfelt thanks to one of our charity partners Media Zoo for creating our #12DaysOfChristmas campaign

DAY 1

Our parent packs are filled with overnight essentials like shampoo, shower gel, toothbrush and toothpaste, and much more.

They cost up to £70 each.

DAY 2

We are so pleased to provide mental health support to families who have a child with cancer in Edinburgh thanks to your fundraising. We now aim to provide this in Glasgow too!

You can help us to help young cancer patients in Scotland.

DAY 3

Our Lottie dolls are a very special gift for young cancer patients and their siblings. Which one is your favourite?
⭐️Forest Friend ⭐️
⭐️Kindness ⭐️
or
⭐️Superhero⭐️
They are all super special to us.

DAY 4

"Thank you so much. The time we've spent here has been awesome"

"I have loved playing table tennis and pirates"

"This is the most special place we've ever - and ever likely to visit so we can't thank you all enough for providing this amazing retreat"

This is just a snapshot of feedback we have had from different families staying at the Ripple Retreat.

We are super grateful for all donations to make these much needed stays happen.

DAY 5

Our snack service has expanded to include vouchers in the oncology ward at Aberdeen Children's Hospital.

We started delivering snacks in Edinburgh many years ago and the service was always, and still is, so well received.

We now get a supermarket delivery for Glasgow every two weeks as well and know the young cancer patients and parents love to get a snack and juice when they are staying or dropping in for day care.

Can your business sponsor this service which costs £800 per month? Get in touch with carla@itsgood2give.co.uk to find out more.

DAY 6

Because we try to help with the shopping too!

This year we have issued £7500 in supermarket e-vouchers.

Feedback from families receiving the voucher are full of thanks .

DAY 7

Fairy box toys are a welcome distraction for young people receiving treatments, and a reward for their bravery too. We look at all types of distraction toys from gaming cards, to finger puppets, little figures, playdoh, and the latest fidget toys. We regularly fill the fairy box in 'Schiehallion', the children's oncology ward in Glasgow.

Can your business sponsor this?

Get in touch with carla@itsgood2give.co.uk if you can

DAY 8

We give every family staying at our Ripple Retreat a £25 voucher for the local butcher in Callander, to fill up the fridge with some extra treats for their stay. A huge thanks to D. Campbell & Son Butchers for their continued support.

DAY 9

'It wasn't a priority to pack anything. I never thought I would be staying in with my daughter. I received this pack which allowed me to freshen up, have a shower and wear something else other than the clothes I was wearing to sleep in, have a little bit of control of something. Because finding out about your girl having cancer was a situation that I had no control over. Sometimes it's the little thoughtful things that make a difference'

- feedback from a mum

DAY 10

We are delighted to have Fay to deliver massage, yoga, mindfulness and breathing techniques in the 'Lochranza' ward of the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People in Edinburgh. Parents are able to book in with Fay, knowing they are still close by for their child.

DAY 11

We have Ripple Retreat jigsaws in both 100 and 500 pieces, designed by our friend K Graphic Design and they are available to buy for £15. We also give a jigsaw to families at our Ripple Retreat. If you would like to buy one for yourself, or one for yourself and a family, get in contact with carla@itsgood2give.co.uk.

DAY 12

We think this picture says it all....
Today Lynne (our charity co-founder and chair, and full time volunteer) will be shopping and delivering Christmas food to Edinburgh's Lochranza ward, and Rosemary (trustee and fabulous volunteer) will be delivering to Glasgow's Schiehallion ward, for families to enjoy together when their child is in the hospital over Christmas.
