Could you be an It’s good 2 give 65er?
To celebrate 16 years of volunteering and fundraising (PLUS a very special birthday), our Co-Founder and Chair Lynne McNicoll is looking for you to help her raise £65,000 by early December this year.
An inspiration to many, Lynne loves volunteering and finding new ways to raise money to help young cancer patients and their families.
She plans to walk 1084 miles, the length of the UK from Lands End to John O'Groats (except of course, she is doing that virtually and over a period of 11 months!), climb 5 Munros, swim in Loch Venachar - the home of our Ripple Retreat and has many more ideas up her sleeve including selling items, trying new activities and working with you!
Lynne tells us why she is doing this:
Why do I want to do this? Keep fundraising and volunteering? I couldn't love it more - volunteering has given me real purpose, a sense of community and fills me with gratitude daily. Fundraising is something I just love doing very very much - I feel excited about raising money, finding new ways to do it and feel very privileged indeed to do it for my own charity, It’s good 2 give.
Over the past 15 years I have met dozens of families with children/teens or young adults who have cancer. I have listened to their accounts of treatment and in some cases how it still has an affects on the child or young person after treatment has finished. Sadly, I have met far too many families who have lost children and teens to cancer. I have known some of them myself and been inspired and humbled by them.
I will always continue to find ways to fundraise, ways to volunteer and ways to support those young cancer patients and their families.
Please join us in helping Lynne achieve her goal.
Join Lynne’s 65er Team and pledge to raise £100, £250, £500 or £1000 on our Virgin Money Giving page. Just follow the steps on the page to start.
We can’t wait to hear about your fundraising ideas.
Help us make a difference to so many families in Scotland.
Thank you
Lynne McNicoll
