2 Minutes with Mike McLean

Our Patrons and Ambassadors are so important to us and play a massive role in our charity.

We would like to introduce you to some of them, so we have asked each of them to answer nine questions about themselves, It’s good 2 give and what they enjoy.

First up is Mike McLean. Mike is one of our Parent Ambassadors and represents us at events.

1. How long have you been a Patron/Ambassador for IG2G?
6 years

2. What inspired you to choose IG2G?
IG2G supported our family from my daughter Millie’s diagnoses and has constantly been there for us after she passed away in 2014. We have seen at first-hand the vital services provided to families affected by cancer.

3. If you were hosting a fundraising dinner to raise funds for IG2G which 6 famous people would you invite? Kevin Bridges, Emma Thompson, Craig Fergusson, Eddi Reader, Mel Giedroyc, Peter Capaldi

4. Has there been one special moment with IG2G you'd like to share?
Planting the Cherry Blossom trees in memory of Millie at the Ripple Retreat was a special moment for our family as it fulfilled Millie’s request to us.

5. What is your favourite .......book, film, food, drink, animal?
Book - Autumn
Film - Citizen Kane
Food - goulash
Drink - elderflower cordial
and
Animal - fox

6. If you were marooned on a desert island for a year, what 3 items would you take with you?
My ipad, yoga mat and telescope

7. If you could only play one song for the next 6 months, what would it be and why?
Anything by Louis Prima but if I had to pick one it’s ‘When You’re Smiling’. It always puts a smile on my face.

8. Which singer would you choose to perform a song at an IG2G event?
Niall Horan from One Direction. He sent a lovely message to Millie.

9. What would the title of your autobiography be?
Cherish life.
