Meet our Volunteers - Marion

Volunteer Marion

Hi my name is Marion and I'm a 73yrs young Crazy Pensioner and a very fulfilled and passionate Ambassador/Volunteer with Ig2g.

I'm very fortunate to have various volunteering roles in this amazing charity.

I'm part of a SNACK TEAM of Trolley Dollies who visit the cancer ward in Edinburgh Sick Kids and deliver snacks, drinks, magazines and dispense smiles to help cheer the children and their parents. Unbelievably rewarding role and I feel honoured to do this.

Ripple Retreat on the shores of Loch Venacher, Callander is a little piece of heaven on earth and holds a very special place in my heart. Up there I happily scrub and clean as a member of the RIPPLE HOUSEKEEPING TEAM to prepare the house to the highest 5 star standard in preparation for the families arrival.  I also take my turn as part of the RIPPLE WELCOMING TEAM to cheerily greet the family as they arrive for their stay.

Liasing with staff in Glasgow Childrens Hospital and delivering magazines, dolls and Parent Packs to the cancer ward is a fairly new role for me but one which I hope to expand, and build up a relationship, with frequent visits.

Helping Lynne and Shonagh at numerous events such as Blingo in Edinburgh and Glasgow, Afternoon Teas, Thank You Events, Awards Evenings and generally promoting and representing Ig2g at every opportunity.

You'll notice I've used the word TEAM frequently. It’s Good 2 Give Volunteers are a Team. A team that look after, and look out for, each other as we are a family.
