A Mum's Story

Our son was diagnosed with Leukaemia and unfortunately I know too well how dramatically your life changes instantly.  Nothing can ever prepare you for the journey that lies ahead and continues to do so even after treatment finishes.

During our stay on the ward our first experience of It’s Good 2 Give was their wonderful parents packs that they provide.

We literally had 20 minutes to grab anything from home and rush to the Sick Kids to start treatment.  The last thing on your mind is all the little items that you may need for that unpredicted 6 month initial stay in hospital.   Every other detail from the daily food that is brought in the ward to help you feed your children who need so much additional encouragement with eating to the most beautiful peaceful stay at the wonderful Ripple Retreat.

After experiencing the wonderful work of It’s good 2 give and getting to know more about the charity I offered my services to help out the charity.   Four years later and continue to experience the charity growing from strength to strength.

The support provided to all the families is truly amazing and the dedication and hard work by Lynne, Ian and the It’s good 2 give team and volunteers is truly inspiring.

It is a privilege to help support Lynne, Ian and the team with numerous tasks that help with the charity.  From organising the financial information to fundraising reports to helping organise events to sourcing ironing vouchers to gifts to supporting volunteers for Ripple Retreat housekeeping to bucket collections to bag packing to Kiltwalks to runners support and many many more tasks.  To be able to support such an amazing charity and know that every single thing you do is helping in some way to support so many families going through the most unimaginable experiences makes every day rewarding.
