Why not try something different for charity this Christmas?

Are you looking for a fun family activity this Christmas?

  • UPDATE

A HUGE thank you to everyone who attended our charity padel event. The day raised we raised £460. A special thanks to Glenda Quinn, Graham Ford, Marion Donaldson, Blair Mackenzie,; Elaine Easton and Game4Padel for all their hard word to make this event happen.

One of our Charity Ambassadors, Glenda Quinn, has arranged a Christmas charity padel event to raise funds and awareness for It's good 2 give.

The event will take place at Thistle Padel Club at Paties Road Playing Fields in Edinburgh on Sunday 12 December from 10am-2pm.

There will be a raffle, snacks and drinks and, of course, some Christmas cheer. So put the date in your diary, get those Santa hats ready and get involved in some Christmas fun whilst supporting our amazing charity at the same time.

Everyone is welcome, all you need to do to come along is make a small donation of £5 or more and email Glenda so she knows how many people will be coming along. All funds raised will go towards supporting young cancer patients and their families.

For anyone who hasn’t tried this before, padel is a form of tennis. It’s easy to play, fun and extremely sociable. The game is played mainly as doubles on an enclosed court about a third of the size of a tennis court and can be played in groups of mixed ages and abilities, as it is not power dominant. The rules are broadly the same as tennis, although you serve underhand and the walls are used as part of the game with the ball allowed to bounce off them.

So if you want an introduction to padel or just want to get involved in this charity event, pop along to Thistle Padel Club for some Christmas fun.

If you can’t make it along on the day, you can still make a donation Glenda’s event on her Just Giving Page.

PS - Thanks to Glenda and the Thistle Padel Club, Game4Padel, who promote the game in the UK, have launched an initiative for the recycling of padel balls to help It’s good 2 give too!. For every 250 balls recycled, we will receive nearly £50.
