Meet Kev from ArtFe - One of our Charity Partners
ArtFe is one of our Charity Partners. Kev and Cat, and their team, are huge supporters of our charity. They make the most amazing pieces of art which we are lucky enough to have had donated to us for our Ripple Retreat and to help raise money for our charity.
Here’s Kev in his words to tell us a bit about himself, his work and his TV appearances.
“I was introduced to ‘It’s good 2 give’ by a client.
I’m an Artist Blacksmith by trade but in recent years have moved more towards my first passion, sculpture.
Our business, ArtFe, is built on an ethos of kindness.
Whether that be to our workmates, the environment or the community, it’s all the same to us.
ArtFe is small but it has a huge heart and owes its success to a lot of hard work and determination. You may have seen me on TV, including the BBC1 show ‘Money For Nothing’. A particular highlight was the Scrap Kings programme which featured the Thistles which were auctioned at last year’s IG2G Ball.
Being a supporter has reinforced my long held belief that we should never take anything for granted. I have been humbled by meeting so many people from all walks of life who have been touched by cancer and I have found their bravery and determination inspirational.
I’ve learnt a lot about myself such as how deep I am able to dig and push myself to be in a position to support charities such as It’s good 2 give and being an Ambassador for this charity is a huge privilege. I’ve also learnt that Lynne is a brilliant fisherwoman and once on her hook you’ll never get off!
Although I have enjoyed the happy ending stories where children have beaten a horrible illness, I am particularly inspired by the bravery and fighting spirit of people like Jo. I say ‘like Jo’ but we all know that there could be nobody quite like her. I’ve also enjoyed sharing Panto nights with the team .
Oh yes I have!”
