Calligraphy Addition at Zoe's Lookout
We are delighted to have so many supporters who are willing to donate their skills to us and our Ripple Retreat.
One of our young supporters, Isla MacLennan, used her calligraphy skills to create the beautiful artwork at Zoe's Lookout, our Ripple Retreat contemplation room, for us.
Isla taught herself calligraphy during lockdown and now has her own business called LoopLarkCailigraphy - please take a look her lovely work.
While Isla was at the Retreat working on the glass, her parents kindly helped us by working in our Ripple Retreat garden.
Our beautiful contemplation room, which was recently renovated thanks to Kate Campbell and Harry Panton at Blagdon Property and Catalog Interiors, can be used by mums and dads who stay at the Ripple Retreat.
The purpose of the room is to give parents a few minutes or a few hours to themselves in a beautiful relaxing setting.
One parent who stayed recently said:
"One rainy night I took myself away to the new parent pod, as soon as the door closed, it was blissfully silent, a chance to relax, unwind and take in the most breathtaking views."
The contemplation room was named after one of the first teenagers our Co-Founder, Lynne, met when she started fundraising 15 years ago.
Through friends of Zoe, Lynne and Ian were introduced to the Ferguson family who donated the land that Ripple Retreat sits on.
A big thanks to Isla for adding her beautiful finishing touch to the room. We also wish her business all the best!
